One of my all time favourite songs. Covered by any British Beat band worth their salt!

  • Sounds like it was inspired by Ray Charles.

  • John Lennon called this song "Son of What'd I Say".

  • He's clearly channeling Samuel J. Gopher (from the land of Winnie the Pooh) @ :28 to :40!

  • @54Richie hello mate, i found this gem and many others on a compilation album called "at the club", a superb collection of sixties club classics.

  • Killer. Sure enough it's a Ray Charles pastiche, but every bit as hypnotic, compelling and groovy as the real thing.

  • This is such a great foot tapping song, like the Beatles version too! Apparently loads of other people have covered it.

  • @54Richie there was a documentary on pbs several years ago called "john lennon's jukebox" which literally featured a portable jukebox once owned by john lennon and this was one of the records that was in it, directly inspired "instant kharma"

  • Yes remember all the beat versions from my early youth..Never actually heard this original version before.I Know this had a uk London release too but actually never come across a copy...thanks for the upload..great stuff
