Here's my cool little SG Classic going into a Fender Tweed Deluxe RI with a 12AY7 and a REAL NOS 5Y3 (Sylvania) from days gone by. The pickup is a TV Jones Powertron and the amp has a Celestion Alnico Blue speaker.

  • what is the difference between tv jones pickup and the gibson that was wearing?

  • @PRIXIES The TV Jones is similar in tone to the original P90, but it is a humbucker and it drives the amp just a bit harder. Both sound great.

  • This is the tone from so many great '70s rock albums!! well done!

  • How did you recorded this video? Great sound and image! Nice!

  • Great playing man, and that is a mean guitar. I plan on buying the gibson sg classic with p90's for my next guitar.

btw you kinda remind me of joe walsh.

    Rock on man!

  • BTW couple of questions- that sound you get here with the Tweed amp is kind of "Malcolm Youngish" - was that your goal tonewise? Is that an old or new Tweed? Which model? Best - Jonas

  • Hi Jeff - great tones with this set-up, old school rock n' roll. Dividing about putting these TV Jones or Pete Bilfoft/Vintage Vibe guitars humbuckers in my Gibson SG. Tough call though... :-) Cheers from Sweden - Jonas
