  • QuadTap -The only hooks involved are standard ones on the end of the chain that slip onto the link.

    maxdecphoenix - sounds like the strap might work, if you get a chance to try it out let us know. Thanks for the input.

  • Wetting the ground may loosen the adhesion to the concrete but it would more likely just soften the ground that is supporting your jack platform causing it to sink into the ground instead of the post being lifted out. Maybe a small amount of water just around the backside of the pole would help, but not too much.

  • are you using a grab hook for this?

    i bought one but it says not for lifting or hoisting - but i think they are talking about overhead lifting

  • instead of messing with the top part every pull, why not take like a ratchet strap/band and tighten it down to where it's just loose enough to let the post slide up, but lacks enough slack for the post and jack top can separate laterally? i'd imagine using a figure 8 with the band around the jack/post would also aid in keeping it centered.

  • Looks good IM2Keith. I was wondering if watering the soil would make it easier to pull the post out.
