Mini World Cup 2009

After much excitement and anticipation during the months of preliminary rounds, the Mini-World Cup final was held on 23rd April in Kiryat Gat for Palestinian and Israeli participants of the "Twinned Peace Sport Schools" program.

The youth proudly represented various countries from around the world, sporting jerseys of the different nations. Numerous VIP guests attended and demonstrated their support for the mixed Palestinian-Israeli teams, among them former Israeli national football coach Shlomo Sherf, international coach Itzhak Shum, top Arab-Israeli football player Rifaat Turk, famous singer and amateur football player Zvika Pik and the Mayor of Kiryat Gat Aviram Dahari.

Ambassadors and other diplomatic staff from China, Cameroon, Chile, Greece, Italy, Turkey and the USA came to cheer on the youth teams representing their countries.
