Second part (of five) of the 2006 documentary The God Delusion. Biologist and professor Richard Dawkins explores the unproven beliefs that are treated as factual by many religions and the extremes to which some followers have taken them.

Dawkins argues that the process of non-thinking called faith is not a way of understanding the world, but instead stands in fundamental opposition to modern science and the scientific method, and is divisive and dangerous.

@Fordragon It's from the Gallup Poll, 2004. However, it does not refer to the universe. It asked what the person surveyed believed about human life on Earth- did God create humans in their present form, did humans evolve over millions of years with the guidance of God, or did humans evolve over millions of years without the guidance of God?

Where did he get that statistic from, where he says that "45% of Americans... believe the universe is less than 10,000 years old?" I live in a pretty conservative area of Texas, yet I only know one person that believes this, and she's over 60 years old. Where are all of these Young Earth advocates? Obviously, personal experience must yield to statistical data, but is that even a remotely reliable number?

#1) The people, that you are saying he attacked out of the blue, support a dogma that demands Dawkins be killed. I think that he has a small claim to be able to question them about that support.

@TheAnubisDrake The moral dilemma....if you watch debates or read debate books, many theologians argue that atheists have no source for their morality while the religious think that their morality comes from their holy scripture. That debate...you know the one.
