This hit by Andy Williams was the 116th #1 song on what is now Billboard's Adult Contemporary charts. It also hit #22 on the Top 40 charts and #19 in the United Kingdom. I have this on 45 RPM.
First time I've heard this song since several lives ago. It was like a time machine that opened the doors wide open to those long ago days. I thought they were all nailed and welded and rusted shut. Something like that.
@Eric1Catman, it was during that movie that I first heard this song. So whenever I see comments stating how sweet and upbeat this song is, I find it surreal. After watching Shallowgrave, I'll always find this song chilling, bitter, and ironic. It did help make the ending of Shallowgrave one of the most memorable moving endings I've ever seen though.
I was about 15 when this was released, and although I loved the Moody Blues, Doors, Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, etc. -- all the great 60's groups -- I can remember listening to this and just smiling. Listening to this still makes me feel good, and I hope his cancer treatment is going well.
