U.S. Geological Survey Great Lakes Science Center 39 Yankee trawl in the flume at the Marine Institute at St. Johns, Newfoundland. Trawl was from the Oswego Office and is used on Lake Ontario. Other USGS Great Lake offices use a similar trawl. Test was with a 9 m wing spread at 2.8 mph with net mensuration sensors attached. A typical deployment. Headline height is 0.8 m. Mouth area is 8.4 m^2. Sideview
