What a killer sound! Muddy Waters explodes with "Oh Yeh" on a rare Chess 78 rpm record playing on my 1946 Wurlitzer 1015 Jukebox. This is one of my favorites!

  • aren't you afraid the steel needle your using is going damage or wareout those records at a faster pace??

  • @sopaman1234 No because the tonearm was completely re-done, rubbers replaced and set on a very light adjustment. The sound is fantastic with a 78 sapphire needle, shows very liitle wear. Other collectors should catch on as the replacement (Astatic) cartidge does not compare to the original..it takes a little time, though, but it's worth it. The volume control also needs to be re-worked to put in thje correct capacitors and boost the bass. Thanks for your comment!

  • I love Muddy Waters i have got my mojo workin on 78 rpm

  • EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Kool video! Muddy Waters I'm ashamed to say I'm not all that familiar with but always love hearing it!

  • @sopaman1234 at the end of the day, all cartridges do wear out records, and when u've got a juke for awhile u get a feel for how and how fast they wear out, then u decide what to put on there and what not to.. lol. I love those steel needles in a way, my juke came with a very similar cartridge (still got it!!) but I did eventually decide to change it to the sonotone that came in my 1958 magnavox.. it wears records too but not as fast as the steel needle used to. I also lightened the tonearm.
