Coin and tassel belts are indeed period. Tassel belts were used in more nomadic tribes; look at the horse and camel saddles / decorations (from the middle east to moorish occupied Spain); coin belts have been around for a VERY long time (i.e. wearing & dancing for Dowry from Spain, Northern Africa, Greece, Turkey, to the M.E.). You might need to go back and do some more research before knocking down this lovely lady's dance or others out there who also dance in the SCA.
I like that the hands were kept busy the whole time and you could focus on the overall execution of the dance. She kept great rhythm and sword, cymbals kept interest. I think she had a gwazee coat , harem pants and turban, understated and elegant. Not over the top flashy with coins nice change.
she moves very well ^_^ And I love her use of the zills.
-. Also, per the comment about coins on costume, there are tons of types of belly-dance not all use coins or tassels from cabaret to tribal etc it's basically just a costume choice as far as I've seen in my research.
I admire the enthusiasm and zill accompany, I also noted the non visible coins, though I can hear bells/or possible coin belt. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean you can't hear it (wink).
in truth coins are late period where as bells and such were and still are used through out time.

Lovely dancing, and really outstanding presentation! I was especially impressed with your props layering. And I dig your costume, too.
