People of Hamonhon and Manicani the election is coming, make sure in YOUR ballot instead of putting your candidate put "NO MINING." Don't sell your vote because the money will be spent in a day, But the damage of the mining will cost for a lifetime.

Brothers and Sisters !! walang lugar na naging mayaman, naging progresibo og naging healthy dahil sa pag mimina.. it always- end up to TRAGEDY! ang nag kamal ng salapi ay ang mining company and those people in the community who are behind that lalo na ang mga government officials na nag bigay permit to mag operate. pag katapos masisip ang natural na yaman ,, kayoy iiwan na naka tunga-nga!!!at dadamhin nyo ang epicto ng ginawa nila.

About your comment that the people of Homonhon are getting some money for that mining the people of Homonhon are not. Maybe you and local government get money from that mining or your family and that's probably the reason you want the people of Homonhon to stop complaining. Shame on you and people like you

The people before really don't know about the mining, not like now that the new generation is more knowledgeable. They have more access to a cell phone and TV and see the damage that the mining does to our place. .

Its the price we pay for those generous amount of loans extended to us by the chinese government (and god knows how these loans had really been spent.)

kinahanglan ini nga ipa IMBESTIGADOR na..asya gud la ada it makakabulig ha iyo.
In Homonhon, Peng Cheng, has been claiming lands, including farms of poor farmers. Homonhon mining is not an isolated case, as we can see. The ZTE Broadband deal is actually one of its siblings. If youre from Eastern Samar and you notice some Chinese sight-seeing with your local government officials, as in the case of Mayor Annaliz Kwan of Guiuan, be afraid. Be very afraid.

The new mining company in Homonhon is owned by a Chinese Steel Corpotation known as Peng Cheng. This is actually a product of the Early Harvest Program - a treaty between the Phil. gov't and the People's Republic of China in which the latter will bring in investments and loans to our country. In exchange, our gov't will allow the Chinese to utilize up to 2 million hectars of our public lands, plus our seas, for 25 years. Eastern Samar is one of this treaty's priority areas...
