RC Formula Offroad with the Sand King & new Chevy Silverado Baja body (HPI Wheely King)

i have a wheely king, converting it to crawler at moment. might get a brushless for it not sure yet. But I was wondering does all the sand get into everything and ruin stuff?? I leave 5mins from the beach, but never taken a car on it for fear of wrecking the transmission and basically all moving parts. I have a traxxas revo 2.5r, that would be good on the sand. but unsire if it would destroy it
