  • I have abandoned the method in benefit for the planer method. Not because of the security..:-)

    The bandsaw method demands a lot from the bandsaw and the bandsaw blade. It needs more power and let's say accurate power to force the core thru the saw.

  • I agree. I like the method and the jig, but that was a bit frightening. I wonder if there is a safer way to do it? Maybe another guide/jig on the "detachable thumb" side that would sandwich the core, and maintain the profile? Saws scare me a bit anyway, so maybe I'm being too conservative. I like the jig though. : )

  • It is scary to watch the operators hand near the band saw blade. How about some safety first?
