The only thing I do believe might be true of the whole six fingers and six toes myths is the good luck that seems to follow us that are born this way. I have never broke a bone in life or have had known major medical issues so far. I am both physically and spiritually healthy and have always been. I have always been considered above average intelligence throughout primary, high school and college. I have seemed to be dealt a good hand in life :)

I was born this way and throughout my life people have asked some interesting questions and had some interesting theories about us who were born this way. This genetic defect is nothing new. People for thousands of years have been born this way so its not evolution at work. Another theory is people born with six fingers and toes are decendants of survivors of the Flood in the Bible and we are the devils children. LOL the most ridiculous thing I ever heard.

To me it is completely insane that someone would want to chop off this child's extra fingers simply out of a fear that he might get teased by other kids. Emphasis on the word "might". You don't even know if he will be teased - the other kids might actually think it's cool.

And besides, since when do we let the teasing of a child's grammar school age peers dictate a decision like this?

Consider it a gift from God - or an evolutionary experiment - something that will make your child special.
