On Tuesday, June 20, 2006, the Faith Covenant Church in Lexington, KY, collapsed after a loadbearing wall was accidentally demolished. No one was injured, but several cars were injured. The church was an important landmark and key to the expansion of Lexington's city limits. The building was demolished to make way for a new loft development.
