Guinevere's Tale

A retelling of the Arthur-Gwen-Lancelot love triangle. It's my favorite aspect of the Arthurian legend, and I was disappointed by the way it was written on the show. If I was a script writer for Merlin, this video is essentially how I would have done it. :)


Side Note: When I started making this video, it was going to be about the trial of Guinevere and all the angst associated with her almost-execution in the legend, but it was hard to transition the sad flute music into something darker - so I'll save that for another video, or hope that someone else makes one!

I actually love that Merlin gave us a different version of what we're used to. I believe in the love between Gwen and Arthur and I don't believe that the Guinevere who accepted Arthur's proposal would have ever cheated on him. So an enchantment was a necessary plot device IMO. That said... This is a very well done AU :)

@prideandprejudice05 For such an iconic character as Lancelot, I was always disappointed when he would only show up for an episode a series (when we got three episodes this series, I started to get my hopes up). Fortunately, I love Arthur as a character, but you're right, their scenes are getting a little repetative. They definitely need to throw more angst in there to spice it up. Also, the music for this video is perfect! Meant to say it in my first comment, but I forgot, haha!
