Kenmore/Frigidaire bearing repaired

Search for "[FIXED] Drum Gasket and Rear Shell Bearings" WITH the quote on Google and you'll find the post I'm talking about.

It took me about 6 hours of work to complete the change, tear down, change bearings and rebuild.

I knew that the bearings was the problem because of the jet engine sound it make. If you hear more like you've put rocks in the washer, then you have a broken spider web (the thing that hold the tub to the shaft).

I'm having the bearing/spider issue with my Kenmore (same 417 model)...where did you get the parts to fix it and did Kenmore/Frigidaire provide to you at NO cost? How hard was it to fix?/

I choose to only change the bearings and seal, I found a plan on how to do this with exact parts numbers on the forunm of applianceblog(dot)com. Frigidaire, did nothing for me, but my unit was out of warranty though. I could have bought the whole rear outer tub assembly for more than double the price I paid for the bearings only. I cost me less than 100$CAD if I remember correctly to repair my washer and today, it still goes smoothly as a new...

Do you know how to exactly find the plan at applianceblog(dot)com on how to do this with exact parts numbers? Did it take long to teardown the machine? Frigidaire, did nothing for me either.

How did you know it was the bearing for sure?

Actually this is a rebranded Electrolux, They use the same door as a Zanker or other E-lux machine.

the main seal , which is right next to the drum has a brass matin part on the shaft

on the seal I can read

NBR+Fe I guess this is the seal composition

iron + nitrile butadiene rubber

the seal is 80mm OD and the ID is roughly 40 mm , but it could be flared and expanded because of wear

it's the seal failing that scrapped the chrome steel ball bearings

my problem is now : I can't find the seal

I have frigidaire front loading washer like this it was greasing up the clothes instead of washing them also did a loud grinding noise on spin took it appart tub in good shape, spider only light corrosion protruding drum screws didn't damage the tub bearings are MRI 6307RSD 80 mm OD by 35 mm ID by 19.5 mm thick and MRI 6306RSD 72 mm OD by 30 mm ID by 19 mm thick 2RS means "2 rubber seal" but RSD I don't know what kind of seal that is the 6307 bearing is worse, but they are both bad

Zanussi and Electrolux front load washers, sold in UK, are the same product. In the UK you can buy the replacement spider and rear basket bearings. U-tube shows repairs. On e-bay you can search and find the part (use worldwide search for zanussi washer spider). Also you can purchase the two rear tub bearings on e-bay: 6306-2RS and 6307-2RS You do need a bearing puller or make one yourself, also on u-tube.

Mine lasted 10 years before the bearings and spider went out. I had Sears deliver brand new Samsung washer and dryer and haul off the old Kenmore washer and dryer. Got 5 year warranty for both including annual check up and service.
