Giardello edged him out for sure. Hurricane is a good fighter, very strong and a pretty good puncher but he never caught Joey with the bomb and that was how he coulda won. Giardello leads better and is shifty, he avoided getting caught and ground out a tight decision. Calling racism is immature and an insult to this proud sport, the movie was an mediocre dramatization and would've been unwatchable without Denzel's acting. Joey won by boxing but make no mistake the Hurricane has real power
