Probably the most underated female performer /impressionist ever..BRAVO Marilyn is awesome..I loved her Edie at the end with Steve!!

Marilyn Michaels is the most phenomenal talent in entertainment history. No one, male or female, has ever matched her ability to render almost clone-like replications of famous singers & other celebrities. Her own voice is beautiful and exquisite with subtlety, range, & power. Her quick wit & sharp comedic sensibilities are wondrous to behold. No one on the scene today even remotely approaches her talent. She is a living legend who rightly deserves much greater acclaim.

but her Ernestine is verging on Mae West, and her Diana Ross is verging on ... nothing.
and she shouldn't sing as herself like that at the end.
I love her. doesn't mean I love every little thing she does.

Does anyone know if the KopyKats can be had on DVD? eBay, etc? I'd shell out some cash for that superlative series! Great Eartha Kitt and Rosemary Clooney! Funny and so talented.

@Quiteashtrudel I remember Marilyn Michaels being on the Kopykats show. I think her nearest British equivalent would be Kate Robbins.

And this in an era when female impressionists were a rare breed...in the mid-70s, there were guys like Frank Gorshin, Rich Little and Fred Travalena; lots of guys...and then there was Marilyn Michaels. I don't know of any other female impressionist around at that time, now that I think about it. I don't think it's a stretch at all to say that Marilyn was indeed a pioneer.

I agree with jetskidrummer, Marilyn Michaels was grossly underestimated and under appreciated. She put professional female singers to shame!

The show with 8 different ladies and Steve Lawrence, is from a trailblazing series called, The Kopykats... first taped in Canada, then in London and shown here on ABC TV.... great stuff...

Ms. Michaels is absolutely wonderful!!! She used to be on a TV show in the 60's called The KopyKats, and she was one of 5 or 6 impersonators. What an extraordinary talent!!!!
