I just watched this tonight on TCM. it reminded me of a short film I had seen years ago, about a guy who was fed up with the time he lives in. so he loses himself by watching classic films in a movie theater. and a character in a B&W film he is watching, sees him and steps up to the screen and beckons him to come with him, so the man steps into the screen, takes one look behind him, and doesn't look back again. and keeps on going into the film and lives there.
