I fixed my camcorder!!!

After getting NO HELP AT ALL from RCA and Point&Shoot.com, I had the opportunity to purchase a SECOND RCA Small Wonder Camcorder. I didn't even record anything on it, but brought it home and promptly made a backup image of the complete drive! I then used the backup to restore the original program to my first camera. WOO HOOOO! IT WORKS AGAIN! And, I have a backup of the files if it ever fries again. This is all I wanted from RCA and the Point&Shoot people. They wanted me to send the whole thing in and wait for them to send me a new one. HA! I don't need them anymore. I have a copy that I can restore it from ANYTIME I WANT! Furthermore, if anyone else has a need to restore their own Small Wonder, I can provide a copy of the file, and for free, of course!

The RCA Small Wonder camcorder is worth it in about the same ratio as an Instamatic still-picture camera is compared to a Nikon or other high-end SLR. It's inexpensive, it works well, but there are some drawbacks when it comes to how well they constructed it to make it so inexpensive. All in all, it's worth the $129US that I paid for it.

An easier way would have been to just return the crappy one, but I know you saw this fix as a challenge. WTG guy!!

Hello, I tried to send u a message but the "friend lock" wouldn't let me. I'm having the EXACT same probs with the Small Wonder as u did, but mine's the newest model...EZ201. I used the "restore/update" off RCA's site, but didn't help. Can your backup files help? Thanks in advance
