  • you sound a bit bossy but what u are saying is obvious

  • Where's #1?

  • Hey, in the age of female equality, why didn't YOU take the initiative to make something happen?

  • Judiasm has never had any sort of zeal for making converts. In fact, if someone desired to convert, the rabbis would try very hard to talk them out of it as non-jews only have to follow the Noahide laws (not murder, steal, etc.) yet Jews are bound by Torah to fulfill all 613 mitzvohs.

As for reeling in the fish...the good ones, as in any group or religion, are very talented in this. The tension caused by that 'untouchable until it is yours' part is quite hot, actually.

  • I would look away because I feel that one's sexual life should be fulfilling, fun and Very Private. One shares many things with friends, acquaintances and family - our time, our hospitality, food, money, etc. However, that intimacy that is being publicly displayed is the ONLY thing that a couple should never share with the world. That is what keeps it sacred and so very special. I would look away as long as I knew better...You may look but not covet. Looking away does not make you gay!

  • You would be surprised at how much freedom Orthodox Jewish women of any age have. We are able to do anything we desire. It is simply that we constantly hone what we desire to be more in line with what G-d desires.

  • I am an Orthodox woman. If I came across a man with a flashy/superficial woman on his arms in public, I would look the other way, no matter who he was. I do the same if I see someone with an online profile that is even remotely similar. I would say that both Groovyhoovy613 and I have very much in common as far as our backgrounds go, although we have never met. What she described in her comment regarding Part 1 was pretty accurate of how I think most of my friends would feel.

  • "A beauty contest game called Miss Bimbo is an online game which players, of a large range of ages including grandparents, can purchase operations such as facelifts or breast implants in order to impress virtual boys, with proper warning of the dangers it may cause in reality." I would say that this is a great definition of the current use of the word Bimbo - Anything of 'substance' is on the outside. Sad, really.

  • I agree with this 100%

  • I think you answered your own question. If she knew you were a missionary and she saw what looked like a wedding ring, she was probably curious and perplexed rather than hitting on you. But I wasn't there so I wouldn't know.

Your assumptions about my background are far off. But it doesn't matter.

Finally your interpretting my bluntness as defensiveness is also a jump. I have nothing to defend. I am just presenting my points/opinions in a direct manner.

    All the best
