In the US it considered extremely rude to give someone something or even allow them to be given something then take it back. If it were an American crew shooting in Australia they committed a social taboo like the Chaser crew did, everyone would go on and on about cultural insensitivity and how when going to another county you should respect local customs. However the Chaser crew didn't do they did they?

Are u kidding me? That man gave it to her and she believes its hers. How is that stealing? She has no idea its a joke. Its a freaking blanket. Let her have it if she wants it. You let her think she was being given something for her children then try to take it back for the sake for your show. Now whos petty. You give someone something then try to take it back? She wasn't stealing. She was mistaken. If thats you idea of stealing then Australia is full of thieves around Christmas time isn't it?

I bet they said sorry and gave her the blanket after they turned the camera off. Obviously he's joking otherwise they wouldn't have put it on the show.
