YouTube Nostalgia: Flashback 1984 (Re: Kenrg)

Kenrg tagged me in the YouTube Nostalgia game. The idea is to re-introduce yourself by posting your first YouTube video. He made an exception for a couple of us. He said that we were to post a pre-YouTube style video blog. I dug deep... old equipment was dusted off, cables were dug out, tapes were sorted through, transfers were made and finally I arrived with some video shot of myself in 1984. You can see that, other than the aging, my attitude hasn't changed much shown by the 1984 videos in which I discuss the strength of the dollar and the reduction of pollution by riding public transportation. I kind of liked this video better before I added all the "tag video" clutter. Oh well, I think it still ended up less than 3 minutes. Now that I have sorted out all the details of getting VHS tapes transferred digitally into my computer, a Pandora's box has been opened. I am hoping to avoid using very much footage from the 80's, but now that I know how, there is certainly a temptation. It is a far too time consuming process and I really don't want to get caught up. Such projects could consume literally 100's of hours! Besides, as I was going through those old tapes, I found about 4 hours recorded off of MTV in 1986... what a horrendous walk down memory lane. Anyway, go ahead and watch, the best part is only about a minute and a half in the middle. I should have just posted that, and called it good... but I had to follow protocol. Speaking of protocol, there are a bunch of things I am supposed to clutter up this description box with too. I'm going to get to that now. Also, please be sure to read the titles I added to this video. I don't do that very often.

OK, phew. Obligations fulfilled. Shoot, except I was tagged by theloathlydaddy and I still haven't responded to that one either. Eek. I always thought that it was lame that people complained about these tag games, but now I am starting to get it. Didn't they used to call these "chain letters."
