its true the laws to become jewish make the task hard but you must see the jewish people dont want "outsiders" they were a "private club" always and even when they were in Europe before world war 2 and the holocaust they lived in they're own communities which in they managed their self and the Rabi was the mayor the jews (im talking about bible jews and the Rambam(רמבם) and etc and not Israeli jews) really want to keep their religion a private club

but for you point i think the task of Converting to Judaism is so tough because the jews dont like outsiders in their lets call it "private club" a fact that isnt true today because you cant talk about jews without referring to Israeli people as well (im both Israeli and jewish) and Israeli people dont have a problem with gentiles

@bullshitohen1 So true, if your fighting a war and the country's people is against you, you have to kill a horrific amount of them to truly win, unless your goal is a diplomatic one. The Mongols could not have conquered or maintained the huge empire they did, if it wasnt for the fact that they slaughtered a huge amount of the population, their brutality was the perfect recipe for conquering a lot of land, i wonder what kind of conscience they had tho.

@isrgodrg Having said that I find the Jews admirable. There is no other people as far as I am aware that have survived for 40 centuries the passage of time, multiple attempts of eradication, multiple hostile empires and wars and in the end have even prospered in all the corners of the earth! Like it or not, truly this is the mark of a great people. To bad your enemies are ignorant of this fact! If they knew as much they would stop fighting you and make peace because you seem to be indestructible

@isrgodrg Also, conversion to Judaism is difficult if not impossible. Some sects simply deny you such a right and those that do, do not consider you a 'proper' Jew, nor your children unless you marry a Jewish women who is deemed to carry the 'bloodline'.

All this suggests to me a superiority narrative based on 'bloodlines' and dare I say it 'race' which I and many others aware of these facts find disturbing.

@isrgodrg Your interpretation of the prayer seems to be from a humane and dare I say it nicer perspective. Yet taken face value the prayer suggests that the gentile is below the Jew and God aught to be thanked for not having made me one. My argument is supported by the fact that pride is sinful under Torah and Talmud thus this prayer to god cannot be an expression of pride but one of thanks for not being reduced to the inferior status of a gentil. P.S. by club I meant religion.
