Watch this outer Lake Shore Drive monstrous truss bridge come alive. Completed in 1937, US 41 Bridge was a product of the great depression and the largest bascule bridge in the world.

  • what do they do if ppl are still on the bridge? wait for them?

  • @20PINKluvr ......actually, yes or they will fall into Lake Michigan which would not be good for summer tourism.

  • Is this in a building or something?

  • @Megahammerheadshark .........in a bulding? It's the bridge that connects North Lake Shore Drive to South Lake Shore Drive. During the warming months, boats commute down the Chicago river and in order to reach Lake Michigan, they must raise the bridge which stops traffic on LSD for about 15 minutes.
