The dude COULD have chosen a slightly more romantic venue/time to do that. She probably doesn't even like basketball but went because he insisted, not realizing what he had planned.

Guys, seriously, if you're gonna do that, take her someplace nice that she likes and then pop the question; if you're going to do it at a sporting event, make damn sure she's a die-hard fan of the home team.
