were did you get the metal base

@erikw789 Its composite aluminium panel with a digital print applied to it.

Available from most sign shops. To fold it you use a router to cut a groove in the back and then fold it by hand.

The only part of the package not used is the male hose fitting(nozzle).

One female hose connection has a threaded brass fitting welded to the bottom (initially friction fit with a screw through the side). This screws into the T manifold in the base. The release head is made from the other female hose fitting that conveniently screws into the male faucet (tap) fitting. This allows for easy change to the launch tube. Otherwise you could just use the first female connection.

Is that a 9 mm gardena coupling? goes the launch tube through the 9 mm gardena connector ?

It is a 9mm connector. The tube is closer to 10mm so I had to sand the inside of the nozzle a little to get it to fit.

I got the fittings from our local supermaket (woolworths) but I have seen them at hardware stores as well

At 0:05, it looks like three brass quick connectors(two female and one male). On the other end of the 3, it appears they go to the male end of a garden hose. My guess is that the two female connector ends would accept the plastic 9mm (Gardena style) faucet connector. Is that a correct observation?

The three connectors are used. The only part not used is the garden hose nozzle. The extra part needed is the brass fitting at 0:14 with the arrow pointing to it. I picked this up at a hardware store in the plumbing section.

Initially I tried just drilling holes for the the side screws but found they held better if I threaded the holes.

the tube comes around a1mm bigger than the inside diameter of the QC connector so with a little sanding it friction fits. I have also drilled a small hole through both and inserted a small screw just for safety. The male Gardena nozzle just slides over it as if it wasn't there.

I was watching your video again and am a little puzzled. I understand the garden quick connect concept where the QC holds onto a male plastic Gardena type nozzle. But how does it work with a fill tube? How is the rocket held down? How do you secure the tube to the quick connect?

Of the 4 piece garden quick connect set, how many pieces do you use? Which one/s? Also, did you have to drill holes in the side of the brass connector and thread them to mount the 2 screws that pull the connector down?
