  • There is one more thing to do to make a Dyson that is down on suction as good as new, and that is to ***dismantle and clean the cyclone***.

My machine was way down on suction. That turned out to be due to huge ammount of dust trapped inside the cyclone that no ammout of shaking or tapping could shift.

Cleaning transformed it. Definitely an outdoors job if yours is anything like as bad as mine was.

See the 'Dyson DC07 Cyclone Cleaning' video.

  • @IChewieK9 We bought a Dyson Slim and it's been flawless so far. We've had it for about 3 years now.

  • @JohnnyL8 - All the problems with this vacuum have been repair to BROKEN parts. I had to replace the roller brush at 11 months because all the bristles were worn off. The vacuum was used on indoor/outdoor carpeting and it ground the bristles right off. At 4 years the power switch burnt up. I removed it from its housing and one of the terminals at the connection was burned. I certainly didn't wreck these parts on purpose and they were very expensive to buy. Video showed all being replaced.

  • @IChewieK9 Are you crazy? The machine is specifically designed and marketed as zero cost maintenance. Nothing is supposed to wear out and all filters are washable, LIFETIME filters. There should NEVER be a need to replace anything. The lid doesn't move because it's never, ever supposed to be taken off. Costs are self-inflicted by users who it seems didn't read the basic Dyson machine instructions. And then Dyson gets a bad image as a direct result of things that aren't its fault. Amazing.

  • @norman8749 - I was thinking the same thing! That lid doesn't even move! This cleaner is the most expensive to maintain that I've ever had! But the job it does cleaning is excellent. And I like the exhaust not having any dirt in it.

  • I have inherited a DC07 and its its proper bad shape. All clogged and blocked, filters all screwed....In short its never been maintained in its 6 year life. Anyway. If unblocked it all, washed the side filter etc, but have found the post motor filter in need of replacement. I have a filter pad. Can I replace it with a HEPA or does it have to be another filter pad? I found your video amazing! Thanks.

  • are these vacuums as good as u tube makes out ?
