How to Downgrade Wii 4.2 and fix error (ret - 1017)

Follow this tutorial and you will be downgraded from Wii version 4.2 and also get cIOS on FW 4.2 if you decide to not downgrade, this tutorial will fix all problems that came with this update.
Its YOUR choice to follow this tutorial , I completed this tutorial myself and it worked perfectly fine. BUT IM NOT RELIABLE FOR BRICKING YOUR WII. NOT! (This most definitly wont brick your wii but there is still a small chance somthing could go wrong)

@cooldude9597 Thats great to hear!, but i don't recommend others to do so, i think you were lucky,as apose to if you ever made modifications to your wii. Though you may have problems in the future with apps.

i don't get your tutorial..where do i get that file called tbrboot.dol and the other two? the tutorial doesn't show anything where to download it or where to find it. i am majorly confused right now. also, which apps folder? i'm really confused and i would like to have the answer as soon as i can cause i have been suffering for months now...

@strikerno14 Ok, the tbrboot.dol step..... just forget it, its not needed. and teh pack for this tutorial is at the link in the discription. (you need to sign up to see the link BUT its worth the time because the tutorial works.)

well im fucked. i installed ios249. i here it bricks wiis. now i can,t uninstall it. so how much time dos my wii have? tell it bricks if i don,t get this ios249 out. well my wii is runing fine.

@iamkakashi20 It won't brick your wii, nintendo just adds ios249 to your wii with update to keep you from using hbc, this tutorial replaces it with cIOS38. Im pretty sure if you tryed to downgrade it would brick, but you should be good to go if you complete the steps carefully.

My wii like shuts off or freezes when I load bootmii through the homebrew menu. Any reason why?

@brosfromothermthrs3 no it's not that i actually just finished downgrading after i figured out you could also use the gamecube controller to navigate through in bootmii i'm playing my dowloaded games and homebrews now XD

@darkneomartin It might be because you have a '07 or '08 wii. If you have '09 it has to be an updated motherboard. The update came in August '09

Hey I was wondering if this would work on an '07 Wii. on Riyyi2's video A guy couldn't open a certian chanel (or app) Yes or No? Will it work for '07 wii's?
