Lord & YoungMiller (Out of the Desert Artisans) have a little recycling fun at Christmastime.

The quirky rendition of "Jingle Bells" was played by YoungMiller on a guitar synthesizer.

  • Awesome piece of art. Thanks for sharing. I cut mine in squares and put them on my kitchen wall as a back splash.I used about 65 cans, painted them with alcohol inks. They came out gorgeous. Thank you for the great ideas.

  • @usaearthling FANTASTIC! - as my art partner would say: "SOMEONE GETS IT!" (& puts the recycled cans into good use!).

We would LOVE to see a photos of your work & project! Could you visit our web site at lord-youngmiller.weebly.com & leave us a message? (we can share emails that way).

What fun!!! Thank you for sharing!!!

  • Ooo...now, I've got the idea to use my Spirograph set! =D

  • @pheenix42

LOL! Go, pheenix 42, go! What an idea! Let us know if it works - and if it does, could you sent pics? Cool idea!...

Almost jealous!- I was fascinated by spirograph!... had one 40+ years ago (and wished I still had it! LOL).

  • Really pretty! Thanks for sharing.

What do you do with the sharp edges after cutting to prevent injuries! ?

  • @Teresarose101 Thank you for your kind comments!

Amazingly enough, they are NOT overly sharp! - we've had many people pick them up & handle them & all were astounded by the smoothness of the edges.

(That's NOT to say you COULDN'T get cut!...LOL - if you took one & started sawing away with it like a knife, you'd eventually get hurt!).

    Two MAIN "rules":

    1. make SMOOTH cuts

    2. keep everything rounded/ no corners or points

Lightly sand with fine manicure pad when done ;)

  • WHY DONT YOU USE THAT PIECE FOR A MOULD AND YOU PUT PUTTY ON IT. THEN YOU COLORED. DONT WASTE TIME. Or trim a mould and with a hammer you can get the same result.

  • WoW! Just WoW!

  • @penguinYT1 Thank you!... it may be a while yet, but we'll try to get at least a couple make-'em-yourself videos done in the future!... the tools are a hoot! - you'll be scrounging thru drawers "looking for parts"! LOL

  • This was wonderfutl! I join those who beg you to show us how--and tell us about your tools. (Especially the scissors!)
