Honouring Arni Thorsteinson, B.Comm.(Hons.) (Manitoba)

President of Shelter Canadian Properties Limited, Mr. Thorsteinson has played a leading role in building and supporting the Winnipeg business and cultural community. Mr. Thorsteinson was a founding director and past chair of the Associates of the Asper School of Business where he was recognized as a valued leader with vision and dedication. His commitment and guidance to the organization over the last 25 years have played a fundamental role in building the Associates into the pre-eminent organization supporting a business school in Canada. Today, Mr. Thorsteinson is chair of the Associates Foundation. Mr. Thorsteinson has also been recognized for his leadership role in making the Museum of Human Rights a reality. He has served as the chair of the advisory committee, played a pivotal role in the fundraising activities and contributed a sizeable personal donation to the museum. He was recently appointed as chair of the museums board of trustees. Mr. Thorsteinson is also a recognized leader in the community. He serves on the National Council of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, as a governor of the Banff Centre and is a former governor of the Winnipeg Art Gallery. In addition to his personal and dedicated efforts to his community, Mr. Thorsteinson has made exceptionally generous personal financial contributions to countless organizations.
