Always loved his energy. Especially that hopping undulating dance he did. Saw him at the Fillmore East, 1968.

Possibly.
You have an interesting way of looking at it which I hadn't thought of.
Maybe music doesn't matter as much as it once did no matter what the message, as you're pointing out.

My point is that we went from 'Let me be your teddy bear' to 'I am the god of hellfire.'
I'm not saying that's good or bad, I'm just stating a fact about the warp speed we seem to be on.
In another then years, songs may just consist of addresses where you can post or view your videos.

To think that Elvis's mom died just ten years before a guy had a big radio hit screaming about how he is "the god of hellfire."
Crazy.
