  • 123qwe910 you have never fought in armor with any sca people have you? Maybe you should befor you go running you mouth about stuff you know nothing about.

  • I'll agree that the SCA is not a martial art based on there being no real world application for the style, not that it couldn't be somewhat effective. A hobby most certainly, it's something that a lot of people do on the weekends and aren't overly serious about. As a sport it is most appropriate for it has a specific set of rules and fits well in a tournament style scene. I've participated in a few tournaments of this style, not SCA sad to say, but it's roughly equivalent to fencing or kendo.

  • For the record, at 1:10 ish, the SCA is less of a marshall art and more of hobby. Three reasons: 1) The SCA style of fighting has no real world application. 2) Very little isrealistic at all. i.e. That f***ing offbody flick shot all these guys are throwing to the helm wouldn't work ever, it's just quick and noisy, and in the SCA is considered a good blow. There are other things like that too in fighting. Message me if you disagree. 3) You don't train all week. It's something you do on weekends.
