Uhm..no not really 2500 USD is enough a coupla good lenses another 2 grand and a few digital cards and you are ready.

I said some lenses cost that much. Regardless, 4500 dollars is not something anybody I know could throw around very easily. I don't see where your point lies.

You can buy a camera for $300 and take pictures.

Absolutely you can, but to do what the guys above do and to really get the picture you WANT it takes money.

This is my point. I have a Nikon D40 and I take as great of pictures as I can with it, I have a picture or two posted as a background in some of my videos. Having had the D40 for three years now, I'm craving something else. I'd still use my Nikon for some things, but there are pictures I can't take with my D40 and some limitations.
Lenses are the most expensive though.

I don't know for sure, but I think it's something Youtube is trying so people know who's replying to who.
