"alright" taking a deep breath he stepped forward Nick watched with a proud grin on his face as he climb up slowly but smoothly

"cute kid" he heard one of the workers say "he looks just like you" causing the grin to spread more widely

when he reached the top ringing the bell he turned and looked down over his shoulder "I did it Nick! I did it!" Eli shouted excitedly "I saw, you were like Spiderman himself" causing Eli to smiled widely but then he became serious "um how do I get down?"

"just left go and I will pull you down" the instructor said "are you sure that's safe?"

Both Nick and the blond girl laughed "I promise" she replied to him he hesitantly let go and they pulled him down he let out a sigh of relief when his little feet touched the ground

"that was epic" taking off the helmet "are you sure your going to be able to handle that Nick you seem kinda rusty"

"are you trash talking me?" he smirk "I call them how I see them" he shrugged Nick shook his head as he made his way to the wall "for a seven your old you act like a thirteen year old" his young voice echoed "I've been told"

Halfway up the wall he purposely let go "ah shoot" pulling him down "so you have to admit I was right"

Looking down at Eli "yeah, I guess your just better than me" nodding "yup I can't wait to tell Logan!"

At the mention of Logan he felt the sudden jealousy that always accumulates travel through his body, clearing his throat he did his best to ignore it

"are you hungry?" he nodded "yeah can we go eat where mom works?"

"if that's what you want" he replied "yeah I do they have the best spaghetti" nodding "alright we'll go there"

She had just gotten done with taking an order when Eli and Nick walked in her eyes slightly widen "hey mom" he wrapped his arm around her waist "what are you guys doing here?"

"he wanted to eat here" Eli smiled up at her "spaghetti" he nodded at her as she smiled down at him

"take over that booth right there" she pointed at it and they all walked over to it as they did Nina came over to them "hey little guy" Eli smiled at her "hi Nina"

"um this is Nick" Nina waved at him "hello" giving her a friendly smile

"you should eat with them, I'll take over" shaking her head "no it's really busy"

"it's nothing I can't handle, it's your break anyway" Nina continued Eli moved over "sit mom"

Feeling defeated she took off her apron and and slid in next to him Nina took their order and headed back to the kitchen "so what did you guys do?"

"indoor rock climbing it was awesome I made it all the way to the top and Nick didn't make it half way" he laughed "it's true his better than me"

Selena smiled at Nick "I'm happy you guys had fun"

"yeah next time I want to go with Logan I'm sure I'll beat him too, maybe the three of us can go mom" Selena looked down as well as Nick avoiding each others gazes

"you really like Logan huh?" nick couldn't help but ask "yeah I do" Eli replied instantly without thinking "his like my dad"

"Eli no he's not" Selena shot back at him the only words she could think of as the tense air filled around them "well I want him to be you two love each other so it could happen"

"we will talk about this later" she finally met his eyes sending him an apologetic glance

"it's okay I'm happy that you found somebody that really loves you and that Eli really loves too which is what matters" talking out of jealousy "Logan and I-"

He cut her off "I have somebody too and I want Eli to meet her" now those words cause Selena's heart to sank even though it shouldn't
