When I saw his first video, I myself asked if it was plausible. It would appear so, the question how the suit would react when a part of you touches the ground, in reality a planes wings remain off the ground to sustain lift until the last second. I don't think it's far fetched, I see this happening within 5 years......

Turns out the Wingsuit was more effective then first thought.
Give it a few more years and he might reach the ground.
