Winner of the Award for Best Animation from Project Twenty1's 2009 21-Day Filmmaking Competition, and nominated for the Award for Best Music of the same competition.
A lonely ragdoll, Otto, finds a key belonging to a wind-up doll, and sets out to return it to her.
Created for Project Twenty1's "2009 21-Day Filmmaking Competition", with the secret ingredient: "key." The film took the full 21 days to write, set up, animate, compose, and edit, and is the first large-scale project of Dragon Crest Productions.
The film took a great deal of effort and materials to complete, and included ordering a full 10-inch armature from the UK. Both the Rat and Otto are formed primarily from armature-mounted plastycine, a modeling clay used heavily in stop-motion, and most well-known for its use in Aardman Animation's "Wallace & Gromit" films.
Principle photography was captured on a Canon Rebel Digital XR digital SLR camera.
