  • Do you know any material that has both positive aspects of latex and silicone?

  • @CharlesC13 I honestly do not know. Thats a good question though. Im pretty sure theres a material out there though. Ive only stuck with latex and ecoflex silicone and im quite satisfied with them.

  • @EvilSlaughter13 :P. Which one do you prefer the most, I know that silicone is better for full head masks and latex for face masks but which material is better for you and more comfortable?

  • @CharlesC13 Latex, since its simple to use. Silicone is awesome because of the realistic flow but it takes work to get the mix the right.

  • can more put any color latex in RD-407 ??

  • @lrsriss96 I haven't put any latex colorants into the actual latex cast bucket. I don't see a point in doing that when you are going to paint the base coat for your mask in the painting step anyways.

  • @b0rgsta1 About one quart of a gallon.

  • @EvilSlaughter13 ok thanks. do u know approximately how much silicone is needed to make 1 full headed mask?

  • @b0rgsta1 The differences is the amount of time it takes of drying, elasticity, and the softness. I personally use ecoflex 50.

  • thanks heaps for making this video! very useful information.

just reading on other comments... ecoflex 10, 30, 50... what are the differences? (if the difference is hardness/softness... which is soft and which is hard)

    Thanks

  • @raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad You'll always get the seam line no matter what if you use the two part plaster mold method. I personally use scissors and cut them off. The seam line also varies depending on how well you made the clay walls.

  • awesome masks man nice job....one question though is there any way i can get rid of that seem line down the side of the full head mask??

  • Have you ever casted with a positive casting core?

  • @EvilSlaughter13 no it isnt.

  • @MichaelMyersfan907 In the description....

  • i cant see the silicone link...

  • looks to me as if ill be ordering ecoflex lol. only one problem. i cant find a good coring tutorial.

  • @gregaustin1000 I use ecoflex 50.

  • hey man..nice videos..love both series of mask making...hey what kind of ecoflex do u use...ecoflex 10 or 30 ??

  • @Groznov13 Yes of course.

  • would a gas mask work as a resporator

  • slayer!!!!!!

  • @LabMama1 You can peel off just a slight bit of the cast just to see how thick it is. You can make it as thick as you want it to be by adding more layers.

  • How do you know how thick the mask is without pulling it out of the mold? Is it just trial and error? How thick does it need to be, so it's strong enough to be a mask, like 1/16" ? Or just thick enough so you don't stick your fingers through it when putting it on?
