Watch them grow up before your eyes!
Easily their greatest ballad, writtien by Brian Wilson and Gary Usher and found on the Surfer Girl album. The track was released in 1963. This is a tribute to the great guys who played and sang on the song. Brian, Carl, Dennis, Mike & Al...plus Dave, Ricky, Blondie and Bruce...this is for you guys.

Brian Wilson - lead vocals, bass, backing vocal
Mike Love - lead vocals (bridge), backing vocal
Dennis Wilson - drums, backing vocal
Carl Wilson - lead guitar, backing vocal
David Marks - rhythm guitar, backing vocal

Painfully short, painfully beautiful. This song is life.

This song forms part of my adolescent years-14/15. When nobody understands you and you retreat into your own world for a while.

Why can't today's music be more like this? It's all about sex, drugs, and money. What ever happened to meaning?

I try to tell my grandchild that there is just no way Brian Wilson and the BB could ever be "square" or out of style. It just is not possible. Nobody with that level of genius can be "out." Van Gough can't be passé or square or out of style. Neither can Brian. But they don't listen. You have to LISTEN.

Al Jardine both preceded and succeeded David Marks. In fact, Al even replaced Brian

for two concerts so Brian could stay home and write for the Beach Boys.
