How to play Demoman in Team Fortress 2

This is a video I made to help people beginning to play demoman in Team Fortress 2. I hope it helps people ^^.

Added hints and tips:
- It was pointed out to me that the video lacks sufficient explanation on how to take down sentries. The main tactic is to fin a place where the sentry doesn't see you and where you can shoot over something to hit it. Then, lay stickies under or around it and ignite 3-5 stickies at the same time.

- Also, it was pointed out to me that crouching while stickybombjumping greatly increases how far you fly. I didn't know this, but it's true and is a really nice tip. So if you need the extra distance, lay a stickybomb, jump over it, crouch in mid-air and set off the bomb. It helps.

- The bottle can be broken for extra damage. To break it, hit a wall or another solid object a few times with the bottle. Apparently, it does more damage when broken.

- Regarding recent nerfs: The demoman has been made less powerful un two ways recently: You have half the stock ammo (32 to 16 for stickies I believe) and shot grenades now always damage you if they hit someone right in front of you. As for the ammo, many people make a fuss of it but it's actually not that big a deal. There's almost ALWAYS a ammo pickup nearby and you could always pick up someone else's gun. Also, you shouldn't run out ammo that much at all I guess.

The second posed more of a problem for me, because as shown in the video, I use my shot grenade launcher for short-range purposes. This used to, very rarely hurt you. However, now you end up always damaging and sometimes killing yourself. The damage is not much, and often you can take it, but I thought I should mention it because it makes the method shown in the vid a lot less useful.


This is made with the PC version, but it all apllies to the 360 too, naturally.
Oh, and sorry for the weird Technique s- text, but I somehow couldn't get that right.

I play on the Multiplay Dustbowl 24/7 servers (Both I and II) mostly, so most was filmed on these servers.

Fun fact: At about 1:45, the guy I'm killing is Daedalus, who made two other How To Play TF2 videos: Spy and Pyro.

i dont disagree with you it is the greatest game of all time. fuck call of duty.

also, you need to work on your trollbaiting. trolling should be somewhat obvious, but you make it sound like a legitamate argument throughout. if you were trolling, then you would at least insult once, like i have before in this argument. your "jokes" were highly sophisticated and hard to determine as jokes. now about that roof... can i have a shopping cart with that? *jackass theme begins*

TF2 is a great game, it does indeed require strategy and teamwork. It has awesome hats, misc items and weapons. You can craft items and trade. Also, it is the best FPS ever.

TF2 is a strategy game relying on teamwork. thats why i said that CoD players rage when they cant do it right and end up failing. Yes, console TF2 sucks, it's not nearly as fun.

Also, getting hats and thinking they look cool and awesome is another sign of a f2p nublet fag. Real TF2 players trade them away.

TF2 is a TRADING game my man, there is this shooting minigame they made just so we didn't get bored and had a use for the hats and weapons.

And I never said anything about dicks. They might look delicious but I don't like them as I like vaginas.

im not idolizing CoD, im dissing it, because most Cod to TF2 players start with the sniper because they think they can get 1-shot kills but then move onto Spy after noting the sneaky tactics and backstabs, then realize that spies are easy kills. after that they ragequit or become a TF2 fan. AND you're saying that console tf2 sucks because of hats and weapons? so you need virtual items to make your dick look bigger? also, it takes less than a year to be good at a game.
