This is what makes a country have culture.. I was watching the news this morning and am so sad to hear that our young generation doesn’t want to fly any more... not even the generation of the flyers ... so now they are hoping that parents or kids from the country would want to be trained to do the Papantla fly ... so that this magnificent and meaningful tradition won’t get lost or forgotten for our future generations... We should be very proud that this is what makes our country a beauty...

El cronista español Gonzalo Fernández de Oviedo, escribió en 1529 sobre una tradición en la Gran Nicoya, actual Provincia de Guanacaste en Costa Rica, y cito el espectáculo de los voladores, donde al extremo superior de un poste de madera liso, se ataban unas cuerdas y al otro extremo de cada cuerda los acróbatas se atan un pie e iban descendiendo dando giros Ciertamente un espectáculo increíble, es una pena que en Costa Rica hace siglos desapareció.
