This is my best guess at making a borosilicate wine bottle stopper. This is just me winging it, I don't claim to be an expert. If you want to see what the pros do with this floral technique, look up Eugene Rain, Sabina Boehm, John Kobuki and many others. Verbal "typo", I got the rubber stopper at the brewing supply shop not the "brewery" as I said in the video.

  • what's the purpose of encasing your white and yellow in clear?

  • @bakerman4444 The short answer is that white some reds and yellows will boil or blister if you are not careful. Adding the layer of clear protects the color and allows you to work hotter and faster. Just an FYI - The company Glass Alchemy has a fantastic online users manual that explains a lot of the crazy stuff borosilicate colors do. It is well worth the time to study.

  • Those are regular florescent bulbs. It is all about getting the best image I can with the scrapped together budget equipment I have. Online forums are a great place to learn about the craft. Search on Lampworking or Flameworking Forums and you will find useful communities like Lampwork etc, the glass art section of WetCanvas and The Melting Pot just to name a few. Otherwise, hit the library, always a good resource.

  • Thanks for the verry informational vid. You explain things well. Verry creative product. That is one sexy flame. Is that a mirage or a delta? Please make more vids.

  • Mirage.. New vids coming soon...

  • I wish you would explain how the colors elongate backward from the application you laid down at first. And your color application was from behind in the actual stopper, so I can't logic it out!

    Just great though, thanks!

  • The colors sort of smear back and down as the glass stretches. It is very easy to understand once you give it a try. So, try it!
