TO BE OR NOT TO BE (a Vampire) chapter 1, Insecure, part 1

I woke up in the passenger seat of my truck. The 1st thing I noticed was the speed; around 95 mph. There was a blanket over me and a cast on my wrist.

Edward was driving, his golden eyes locked firmly on the road.

I couldnt remember anything.

"Damn Nomad"! Edward muttered under his breath.

"Wha..." I couldnt find the strength to use full words.

"Oh, thank goodness! Youre awake!" Edward said relief in his voice.

"Wha..." I tried again.

"No. Dont speak now. Youve had it rough. Youre almost home." Edward told me gently.

I sighed and snuggled under the blanket. I watched the road and searched my dark memory, but all I could remember was Victoria holding that bat above my head and...

Oh, yeah. Damn nomad!

Victoria attacked me. Edward apparently saved me.

Edward pulled up to my house. He got out of my truck, letting the door slam behind him. He got out and came around to my side and opened the door.

"What am I going to tell Charlie?" I asked. Edward scooped me up out of my seat.

"Shh." He told me. "Leave that to me. Close your eyes and pretend youre asleep."

I shut my eyes as Edward carried me into the house.

The TV was turned on a college football game. Typical with Charlie. The volume went low.

"Aww, looks like someones tired." Charlie whispered. "How was the party?"

Party. When Alice saw Victoria coming, we came up with the party excuse. I wasnt sure how Edward was going to explain my broken wrist. Edward, like always, was way ahead of me.

"It was good." Edward said. "She had a little collision on the dance floor. Her wrist is sprained, but Carlisle said shes had worse."

"Im not surprised." Charlie said with a sigh.

"Ill take her upstairs" Edward said.

"Ok. Thanks, Edward!" Charlie said, turning the TV volume back up.

Once we were walking upstairs, I opened my eyes and smiled up at Edward. He carried me into my room and placed me carefully on the bed. His cold lips met mine.

"Ill see you in a few minutes." He assured me.

As he walked out of the room, he paused to look back at me. He then shut off the lights, closed my door and began to walk downstairs. I closed my eyes and drifted...

I awoke when I felt cold, strong arms around me. I opened my eyes and stared right into his.

"Didnt mean to wake you." He apologized.

"Its ok." I told him. He kissed me gently on the head and I pushed my face in his chest.

"Do you ever get tired of saving me?" I asked.

"Of course not, sweetheart!" Edward told me, a slight bit of shock in his voice. "Youre my love! My only!" he kissed me again before continuing. "Im never going to leave you!"

I kissed him back.

"What happened?" I asked.

"You passed out during a fight." He explained. "Victoria had kidnapped you away from me, but I found you. The moment I came in, those nomads were running scared!"

I giggled. Edward waited a moment for me to settle.

"You were knocked out for awhile." He went on.

"How long?" I interrupted. He sighed.

"Long enough for me to take you to my house and have Carlisle fix you up. You were bleeding a little and your wrist is sprained, but youre alive and thats what counts."

I yawned. He pulled the blanket over both of us.

"Youre tired." He noted. "Sleep, Bella!"

"Youll stay?" I asked.

"As long as you want me to." He promised.

We kissed 1 last time, and he began to hum my lullaby.

As I drifted, I wished to be in his arms forever

Little did I know not all wishes come true.

i really liked it a lot and im not tryin 2 say anything bad but at the end when he said the only thing that matters is she's still alive he wouldnt say that it is the only thin that does matter too im not tryin 2 b controlling or anything he would be sad and wouldnt except bella's apologies then blame it on himself for not bein there it was REALLY good too good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!!!!!!!!!!
