there's a variety of ways to get money from sponsors. The main one is selling spots that have a high visibility.

Internet advertising doesn't make as much money per ad as television. Making enough money to support a site like youtube is still a very new idea, youtube is a pioneer in the area.

Without money from CBS and others like it, this site wouldn't exist or else you'd have to pay for the data. So basically what I'm saying. Suck it up. If you don't like it, go somewhere else.
