Long period of taper is key - I tapered off benzo's over a 5 month period and the withdrawal symtoms were very manageable - tried to stop with just a month of taper before and it was absolute hell and I nearly died - It is over 18 months since my last benzo intake - life is now great, anyone can do it, but a slow taper is the key to success - as the Dr says, whats the rush? - slowly, safely and comfortably - give the brain a chance to adjust - search 'half life of benzodiazapine' to learn more.

We need more doctors like her here in the US. Her manual has been incredibly helpful to me as I slowly taper off Klonopin.

anyone who feels hopeless, please understand: if dumb ass me can come off them, anyone can! Don't give up hope (even if you think theres is none.) I agree that a gradual process is the only way to go for me. I have tried cold turkey, have gone to detox/rehabs, and ended right back on them. I believe for me willingness and time are the only treatments for this!

I've been prescribed Klonopin since 1999-starting at 1mg-to 6mg's, my latest MD Hounshell, took me off of my meds cold turkey-The insomnia, pshychosis etc, led to Police being called, court cases, actions I would never dream of!!!! Please hold your MD responsible for tapering off your dose!-Suz-Facing 18 mo probation...besides the recent brain hemorrhage and crainiotomy. FAIR? I think not!!!

I revisit this video to see how eight months or so later and see so many people gave me thumbs down. The very drug companies (only merged and named something else) that pushed the Benzos off on people when they were profitable now want people off of them and on their expensive "Atypicals", SSRI's, AND/or SNRI's are behind the whole agenda.

If something works and a person does not develop a tolerance or abuse it then it is BS to change it to something more costly.

Get real.
