you're right, I also don't think that there's a rule restricting them or anyone elso not to use music outside the game (well, maybe copyright issues but that's not the point) though it wouldn't be a great idea to hype the game with music that players won't even geat a glimpse of in the final product.(especially an ff game thet relies to a great extent on the music)
But hey this is just MY wiev of everything, so on the point of the music not beeing in the game, well maybe I am wrong.

@ellone: ok... where did you get this trailer from? this must be fanmade. i mean half of the music in this trailer isn't even in the game:/ but please prove me wrong if i am, but with FACTS and nothing else.

This is not funmade and was officially released in Japan TV show as the game preview.

That's too easy to prove this, just sent a request to SquareSoft Japan and verify, I'm sure you will very much get the answer you wanted. Furthermore, I'm a Japanese and personally I saw this advertised in Japanese TV show just before this game officially released. Trust or not, depends on you, there is no point for me to proof anything on this.

One more thing, there is no rules that a game trailer or preview must take the music from its original game, why the director/producer/advertiser need to take such restriction to limit their creativity since they can simply produce it? It is not fair to judge something just because you never heard the music before, doesn't it? ;-)
