http://www.keishinkandojo.org ,For more news and photos please visit us at facebook and look for kei shin kan dojo London,we are practicing shotokan karate do.The name of our club is Kei Shin Kan DoJo,Certified by the Japan Shotokan Karate Association .This is a tribute to grand master of shotokan Abe Keigo Sensei 9th Dan Chief Instructor of the Japan Shotokan Karate Association.Kei is short for Keigo which is Abe Sensei's first name (in Japanese the family name is written before the first name ), Shin which means heart, while Kan means Hall and DoJo is the place for training martial art..we are practicing and in mind the Philosophy which has been clearly stated by Abe Keigo sensei on this statement :I have always thought that competition is one form of practice of Budo and is useful for improving techniques. I feel however that Karate nowadays is mainly centered only on winning competitions and everyone trains towards this end. But this is very far from the true purpose of Karate. I believe that the true purpose of Karate lies in daily training with a goal to develop a strong body in parallel with a strong mind, and furthermore to contribute to society in general; the Karate-do we practice has for essential purpose to attain a correct control of body and mind!

  • @MrByaeger And to you. oss

  • @PnutButter1986 best wishes to you and your future in the arts. you are part of a long and important chain .

  • @MrByaeger I'm with the KUGB (Shotokan) 7th kyu but devoted. The organisation is very much driven to preserve Karate for what I believe it is - a killing art and way of life. Sport is vein and removes the practicality of the art. oss!

  • Shotokan rocks!

  • Wow. This pictures are a perfect reminder of the old, the new and the future of Karate Do. You guys rock. Keep the good job.

  • while i do not train in this specific form of the arts, i extend my respect and admiration. it is wonderful to see such disciplines being preserved and practiced with both skill and a sense of history. without such things the true spirit would be lost. perhaps it is because i now grow old, but i worry that the young artists and fighters of today are losing sight of the past to their great loss. to see disrespect in events such as the ufc, or karate tournaments is saddening to me. oss!
