wow. a lot of anti-freedom folks here. i ask for all prohibitions on marriage to be REPEALed precisely because it is a civil/individual liberty issue and i get a thumbs down. lol

Such a pity we should have to go begging for rights from people who should never have been allowed to withhold them from us in the first place. Never in the course of history has anybody else put their civil rights up to "the will of the people", yet we're constantly told that we must do so. It is unconscionable and inhumane.

i wouldn't say "never before". but i agree. rights are not granted by gov't, though statists want to take the credit for the very foundations of society, namely the existence of rights.

yeah, i don't get it. "why should anyone ask 275,000 for the permission to marry?" idk, why should the whole state be expected or even have the "right" vote on marriage?
