@iloveyou8770 Oh, yeah, that's what I mean. It's just weird that Jason was able to walk up into the praying area with his camera obviously recording and nobody said anything to him.

@UltidarkTiabloES Well actually its not inside the shrine that you cannot take pictures, its other part "inside" inside the shrine, like that part that you walk up the stairs to and bring an offering and/or pray. But the area with the big tree and that wooden things that you can write wishes on is where you can take pictures. haha sorry if that doesn't make sence.

When I was there, our tour guide told us that we couldn't take video or photography in that inner part of the shrine. Kinda surprised that nobody stopped you when you walked in with the camera on.

Of course, all shrines are packed with people on New Year's Eve and Day! Hatsumode seems kinda important. Not too many people strongly believe, but, you know, "It doesn't hurt to not exclude the possibility of there being superior forces in the universe." :-)

Those are Japanese Cinnamons which are evergreen trees.
Ahh the quality is so nice, might I ask what kind of camera you use?
It's all so pretty!

All my tokyo vlogs were shot on my small, digital camera - a Casio Exilim EX-S880

nope - it's free. I haven't ever been to a shrine that has charged admission. other places, like castles, do sometimes charge a fee to enter.
