Probably one of the best "mainstream metal" songs of all time...I love Joey Belladonna and his stuff with Anthrax, but John Bush is also a great singer and they were just as good if not better with Sound of White Noise, it's a shame Anthrax could never quite top this album.

The Sound of White Noise was a fucking milestone in metal. You gotta remember this was post-hair metal and in the midst of grunge, yet it was NEITHER , it was straight up metal. Alongside Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power, Alice in Chain's Dirt, and Skid Row's Slave to the Grind, this album helped keep REAL metal a viable genre. They ALL laid the groundwork for any new metal to come after it. Those that were sick of the Poison glam bullshit and the mopey ass Kurt Cobain , we leaned to this!

Can't forget Megadeths "Countdown to Extinction" and Metallicas "Black Album"...not to mention stuff by bands like Suicidal Tendencies...hell even Testament and Slayer had big sales in the early 90s, metal was much more alive in the 90s than VH1 and those pretentious hipsters of Spin Magazine want you to think...

Well I will definately agree with Countdown to Extinction and I would also toss Youthanasia in too, but the Black album? Eh no, I can't in clear conscience do that. Sure, it DID draw metal to more mainstream audiences but it was also a notorious sell out point for Metallica in my honest opinion. Slayer had Seasons in the Abyss and Divine Intervention which hit more with the mainstream. As did Testament's Souls of Black and The Ritual, both really good thrash albums. I know metal was alive lol

Im sure you do, but a lot of dumbasses unfortunately buy what VH1 and SPIN Magazine have force fed to the masses about "Kurt Cobain killed metal", blah blah blah....it's historical revisionism, and its actually disgusting imo.

Personally I hate Spin, Rolling Stone, VH1, MTV, FUSE and now Revolver too ( because they often support emo bands and hype them as metal) I just go with what I like which is strictly classic rock and heavy metal. That EXCLUDES subgenres such as glam metal, punk, grunge, nu-metal ( the worst), Screamo, emo, etc. lol Pure metal is easily recognizable , if you hestitate to label it metal, it probably ISNT real metal lol
